Portable Gas Grills

If your idea of fun is an afternoon barbecue on the beach or at a camp with family and friends, then you might want to purchase a portable gas grill.

Portable, campsite gas grills are great investments since they can come with you anywhere, even on a camping trip. They are light and portable enough to go with you on short trips such as picnics, barbecues and other similar activities. They are very versatile - you can use them in many ways to come up with great tasting food that is full of flavor. What’s more, they are light enough so that you can store them indoors when the weather is bad.

You need to consider many factors when buying a portable gas grill. Among them are:

Weight. The whole point of a portable gas grill is its handiness - why would you buy a heavy model? As a general rule, portable gas grills should not exceed 40 pounds in weight. Anything heavier might as well be a permanent fixture.

Cooking surfaces. Look for a portable gas grill with as many cooking surfaces as possible - there are models that have a BBQ surface, a flat grill, and a ribbed grill. Make sure that these surfaces are all nonstick so that you can cook fries, prawns, vegetables and even pancakes without hassle. There are even portable gas grill models that throw in wok tops so you can cook pasta and rice dishes.

Surface area. Most portable gas grills are so handy that they have very small surface areas. Unless you only plan to cook for one or two, it would be better to invest in bigger grills. Expect to spend anywhere from $100 to $200 for portable gas grills with 280-square inch surface areas.

Extras. Little add-ons such as an attachable pot stand for boiling water, a condiments tray, etc. come a long way. Some models even have hoods big enough to grill a whole chicken or large roast, and some even have optional rotisserie kits.

Gas Grills provides detailed information on Gas Grills, Outdoor Gas Grills, Natural Gas Grills, Portable Gas Grills and more. Gas Grills is affiliated with Barbecue Grills.

Printing - How Do I Buy It?

Why should I care where I get my printed material from, I’ll just go for tenders and go with the low bidder. If you do this probably you won’t be in business for long or you’ll never really run a successful business. My company, Solutions Ink started from the premise that I don’t just sell printed products but rather I help businesses grow and prosper.
Being in the business for over 20 years I’ve seen how the industry and the market have changed. Gone are the days you could charge what you want and deliver any quality good’s. With global competition so great, the product must be perfect and your price must be competitive just for you to survive. That being said what should I look for in a printing company. First you should explain what you do and how you do it,to your printer. It is his job with his expertise to decide what product he should offer you. Today there are offset presses, digital presses, web presses and each one is appropriate for a different type of job.

Digital presses today have greatly improved their quality and are great for short runs (under 1000 quantity), variable data (inserting names into each letter), large format small quantity jobs (point of purchases, banners, posters, small direct mail jobs). Turnaround is key and digital jobs usually can be done in days if not hours.

Offset presses are good for jobs of greater than 1000 t’ill about 100,000 or if the absolute quality is essential for the job (brochures, fashion catalogues, price lists, letterheads, business cards, envelopes). These type of jobs usually takes days or a week or two, depending on the complexity of the job.

Web presses are great for large runs of magazines, newspaper flyers or large run business forms.

Suggestions by your printer should help your business grow. He should help in deciding paper stocks, colors, finishings and offer you different price options. New technology can save company’s great amounts of time by offering e-commerce ordering and proofing systems. New technology allows form/card combinations, form/label combinations and form/magnet combinations. These reduce the need to print 2 pieces. This can also cut your mailing costs. The idea is for your printer to help you market your business so that you can become more successful. Penny pinching on costs can be short sighted. For true long term growth you have to work in partnership with your printer so that both of you benefit. If you have only one winner, chances are you’ll be searching out a new partner pretty soon.

Steven Schneidman has an M.B.A., worked for a large bank, was a Finance Professor at University and has owned 2 Printing and Promotional Product companies.

Cayin Technology Showcases Innovative Linux-based Digital Signage Solutions at ISE 2006

Taipei, January 24, 2006 - In response to the growing demand for
innovative Digital Signage products on the European markets,
Cayin Technology is going to demonstrate at the exhibition ISE
2006 in Belgium from the 1st to the 3rd, the newest series of
networked Digital Signage solutions (Hall 5, Booth F294): new
product introduction, interactive applications, and web based
solutions. Come and visit Cayin at our both and be astonished by
the powerful Linux-based technology.

Integrated Systems Europe 2006, also shorten as ISE 2006 is the
leading pan-European show on Audio Visual (AV) systems
integration industry including home, professional and commercial
markets. Many products relating to AV displays are going to be
presented. ISE is said as the place to get the latest news and
see the latest innovations in the AV world, including Digital
Signage.

Digital signage, also known as narrowcasting or electronic
billboards, is a network of signs that use digital displays to
communicate with target audiences in designate locations by
high-quality video, audio, animation, graphics, and texts.
Replacing and enhancing traditional signs, digital signage
offers a multimedia communication platform to promote, inform,
educate, and entertain specific audiences in a variety of
out-of-home occasions.

As an innovator in the Digital Signage market, Cayin is going to
demonstrate two main Linux-based products: SMP-WEB and a preview
of the next product release SMP-PRO2. We will showcase all
powerful and multimedia presentations in larger screen displays,
including traditional landscape, portrait, and interactive
applications in digital signage.

SMP-PRO2 is a skin-based display engine. It means it uses fixed
template (picture) as the display background (Skin). Using a
simple software tool that Cayin offers, you can easily draw up
to five dedicated areas on the skin; one area for stored/lived
video playback or pictures slide show, one area for scrolling
text, two areas for picture slides show and one area which is
actually the background. For each area, the size and the
location can of course be chosen for customized presentation.
SMP-PRO2 supports most popular codec and file formats, such as
MPEG 1/2, AVI, WMV, WMA, MP3, JPG, GIF, etc.

SMP-WEB is a web-based networked digital signage system. All
multimedia contents are displayed in full-screen webpage, so
designers can utilize their own familiar web-editing tools and
unleash their creativities. This system supports most popular
web languages, such as HTML, JavaScript, Macromedia Flash,
DHTML, CSS, etc., and most popular audio/video codec and image
file formats, such as MPEG 1/2, AVI, WMV, MP3, JPG, GIF, etc. In
addition to video, images, animation, and text, SMP-WEB can
easily extend to provide interactive services incorporating with
external devices such as touch screen, keyboard, keypad, or
mouse.

Both SMP-WEB and SMP-PRO2 are scalable and can be deployed
either as a networked standalone solution or under a networked
server-client structure, incorporated with Cayin’s CMS Server.
With CMS server, administrators can remotely manage the contents
and system settings of all SMP clients. A CMS server can
administrate 60 clients at the same time (advised - bandwidth
issue), and broadcast right messages to be displayed at right
time and right places.

Cayin especially provides a useful web-based user interface for
easy remote control. Administrators can centrally manage all SMP
players located at different sites with automatic content
updates, scheduling playlists, players group management,
real-time broadcast (streaming video) capabilities and can
reboot each player remotely if necessary.

At ISE 2006, Cayin Technology is going to introduce the
powerful, advanced features and versatile applications in
digital signage. If you are interested, we invite you to come to
visit us (Hall 5, Booth F294). You will have the opportunity to
see all the possibilities related to the booming out-of-home
marketing and broadcasting platform.

Build Your Own Online Network

Many online business owners and marketers use a variety of tools to make their business successful. Good strategies include maintaining a web site, publishing an ezine, joining affiliate programs, advertising on other people’s ezines, and much, much more. As any good Internet “guru” will tell you, getting your name and product “out there” is the most important part of your success. So, the general rule is: Use as many strategies as possible.

What I suggest is that you take this rule one step farther. What I think works best is combining as many of the strategies together, as possible. In other words, when you can, build your own network, using the tools you already have in place. And I’m using the word network, as it relates to networking your online systems — not in the sense of a prospect or client network, though I have some tips on that, near the end of this article.

So, let’s break down this concept. Suppose you have a web site that promotes a product or service. You probably have a sales letter, some testimonials and a merchant account, so people can buy your product. Now, what I would suggest next, if you don’t already have it, is your own ezine (online magazine, operated by an e-mail autoresponder). You get visitors to subscribe to your ezine, using a pop-up or another type of FREE subscription form on your web site. Again, this may not be new to most people, but here’s another spin on it. In addition to your pop-up or basic sign-up form on your site, why not add a page to your site, with a link on your home page, that does nothing but promote your ezine.

You see, many people pass up your subscription form, because they are afraid of SPAM, or they don’t know enough about your ezine. Will it interest them? Or, will it just bombard them with more advertising?

A separate page can explain exactly what the ezine does, promote articles that you have in it, even give a sample issue, so prospects can see what they are getting. Be sure to have several subscription forms on this page between sections of your text, so people have plenty of opportunity to subscribe. Also, be sure that visitors are linked back to your home page, once they’ve subscribed, so they get back to looking at your product. Any good autoresponder will have this feature, which is crucial, because although you desperately want people signing up for your ezine, you also want them to read your sales letter and, hopefully, buy your product.

Make sure your ezine articles always link back to your web site, so you are constantly promoting yourself. After all, this is really what ezines are for.

Another part of good online networking is to set up affiliate programming, in a similar fashion to the aforementioned ezine promotion. That is, instead of just offering your own product as an affiliate program, set up a separate page on your web site for affiliate programs you use. So, you might have a link on your home/sales page called “Other Great Products.” Obviously, you can use your own creativity for this title.

This link will take visitors to a site that promotes other products, for which you gain a commission as an affiliate. If you are unfamiliar with affiliate programs, visit ClickBank, the largest free affiliate program on the Internet. Most Internet marketers only offer their own product to people, who want to join affiliate programs, or they may offer just one other related product, with a link on their home page.

Plus, don’t forget any other web sites of your own. Always be sure to link to them on all of your URLs and in your ezine articles. The key to building your own online network is to be sure you have promotional pages for all of your products and affiliates on your web sites and to link everything together. Remember, you want every visitor on your e-mail list, and you always want them landing back on your promotional pages.

One final thought. Promoting your business network offline is also critical to your success. Some basic techniques I use are:

• URL on return address stickers

• Business cards with ezine address and web site

• Fliers at community businesses and public places (be sure your community knows you above all others)

• Free seminars in regional communities, discussing my topic (remember, you don’t need to make money here - all you want is to get your name out there and to get e-mail addresses, so you can add them to your ezine list)

• Teach a class at a community college (get more e-mail addresses)

• Give free information away at community festivals, like Home Days

• Advertise in your local Money Saver magazines. It’s cheap, and it reaches tens of thousands of people, who love cheap or free stuff.

• Anything else you can think of that get people to your site and to your ezine

Stay positive. Building a network takes time and hard work, but it’s well worth it in the end.

We English, a nation of (RSS) shopkeepers

We English are a nation of shopkeepers. Napoleon Bonaparte said
so.

As just such a shopkeeper, I have to say that I do love my work.
I get up early every morning to check how sales went overnight.
How many customers came in? What did they buy? Did they ask for
anything that I haven’t got in stock? I then check the money
‘take’ to confirm what’s selling well and what’s not. My shop,
by the way, is a ‘open all hours’ Internet enterprise.

My next joys are to replenish the shelves of my shop with fresh
products and remove any old stock. This isn’t a manual labour of
love though. It’s just a matter of visiting several wholesalers
on the ‘net (the affiliate network sites) and ordering stock.
These sites offer shopkeepers like me a growing number of RSS
product feeds.

I simply select the merchants I want to do business with and the
products I want to stock. The degree of product selection
available to me depends on the way the RSS feeds have been
set-up. Sometimes, I must take every product a merchant offers
me (or none at all); often I can take a group of products from
various merchants; usually, I can opt for a specific product
with high value to my customers.

Having made my selections (of merchant and product), I download
the RSS feeds. This is an elegant process, whereby the software
checks to see if I already have the ordered products in stock at
the desired levels, fills my shelves if I haven’t, and removes
any stock that’s past its ’sell-by’ date. There are no delivery
drivers to monitor; no pallet trucks to push; no returns
documentation to fill in. What’s more, my merchants do most of
the merchandising for me: offering me up-to-date photographs,
product descriptions, prices and so on, as part of their
feeds.

Within an hour, I’ve re-stocked my shop with fresh, desirable
produce. Of course, that’s not the end of my joy. Oh no, the
rest of my day is spent in gleeful bookkeeping, marketing and so
on; the kind of pleasures undertaken elsewhere in retail
management. Thankfully, my wholesalers do much of the data
management for me, which makes bookkeeping easier. The suppliers
meanwhile send me special offers by email, which is akin to
entertaining sales reps. in real world shopping, I suppose.

I’ve just painted a very rosy picture of the modern English
shopkeeper. It sounds like an idyllic way to earn a living. Yet,
being an English shopkeeper largely reliant on RSS feeds does
have its frustrations.

First, too few of the big merchants have understood the power of
marketing via RSS feed and affiliation. These sluggish retail
giants, many with a long-standing presence on English high
streets, are missed by those of us with neighbourhood corner
shops. We want to pass business their way, for a small
commission. So, take note please big merchants, the costs of
setting-up and maintaining RSS feeds, and paying us small
commissions, are far outweighed by the value of increased
sales.

It seems that some of the ‘giants’ have been caught off-guard by
the cost-effectiveness of this new technology and approach to
marketing in combination. It’s simply a matter of them
re-writing their product lists in XML and offering the coded
feeds to affiliate networks. When they do so, I suggest humbly
that they seek out networks offering small shopkeepers like me
an unlimited number of feeds at no cost, and that they avoid
studiously any ‘exclusive’ deals.

Some merchants are quicker to exploit new technologies than
others; that’s the way markets work. The most agile survive: the
least agile suffer. This creates an opportunity for small and
medium sized merchants who are inherently more agile than larger
competitors. We English shopkeepers, need them to master RSS
technology and affiliation quickly, to plug the gaps in the
market left by big merchants.

Recently, for example, I’ve been hunting English merchants who
can offer me affiliated RSS feeds for used and new cars. I have
also been hunting merchants capable of offering me regularly
updated RSS feeds for package holidays, jobs and real estate.
Cars, holidays, jobs and houses are just the sort of products
that would sell well in my shop, yet there are big gaps in the
market there right now.

To conclude, Napoleon was right: we English are a nation of
shopkeepers. Many, like me, love our work. To continue the
tradition, what this particular English shopkeeper needs is two
things. Additional, big merchants offering affiliated RSS feeds
with broad appeal and smaller merchants offering narrower,
deeper feeds that cater for niche interests.

Trash Can Liner Basics

Many janitorial companies supply trash can liners to their customers. So how do you know what to recommend? Trash can liners used to be judged by overall thickness. Now, however, they are broken down into the types of resin: low-density, linear low-density, and density polyethylene. To understand liners, it is important to become familiar with the basics of trash can liners.

* If you need a liner that resists tears and is puncture resistant, you need one that is a linear low-density polyethylene. These work well for trash that has sharp and jagged edges.

* If a lower gauge is suitable for your situation, a high-density polyethylene liner is a better choice.

* A resin that is still used in lower end liners is low-density polyethylene. Many manufacturers no longer use this type of resin.

* Gauge is a term that describes the thickness of a liner. A low-density liner is measured in mils and high-density liners are measured in microns.

* A mil is a measurement based on thousandths of an inch, .000. An example is a 50 mil bag would be 50 thousands of an inch. Low-density liners range from .37 to 2 mil in thickness.

* A micron one hundred thousandths of an inch. Most high-density liners range from 6 to 22 microns.

The type of trash can liner you need depends on the type of building you are cleaning and the waste that you’re collecting. Linear low-density can liners, which come in various colors, are good for multipurpose applications. They are puncture and stretch resistant when compared to high-density liners. Low-density can liners are the most widely used liners in industry today.

High-density trash can liners are more durable than the same thickness of polyethylene liners. In addition they are up to three times stronger. High-density liners need less petroleum in the manufacturing process so they are about one third the thickness of low-density polyethylene liners. When high-density liners are properly made they will rarely “zipper” if punctured. Because of the manufacturing process these liners are generally more cost-effective than other types of liners.

Once you decide on the proper liner, make sure to measure the waste receptacles for the correct liner size. For the bag width, measure 1/2 of the outer circumference of the container. Measure bag length by taking the height of the container, then adding 1/2 of the diameter of the bottom of the container (measure 1/2 of the diagonal for square containers), and then adding another 3 inches to allow for overhang.

Choosing the right supplies will be a positive reflection on your cleaning business and will help keep your buildings looking neat and professional. And if you sell supplies to your customers, they will appreciate your knowledge and recommendations.

Adwords, Affiliate Marketing, And Cashing In On The Xmas Spend

It’s going on right now.

The biggest Xmas spend online ever.

It stands to reason that each year more and more people get online. More of the people online begin using their credit cards to shop online and more of these shoppers realise the great convenience that shopping online offers. So they start to spend more on a wider variety of products and / or services.

So when Xmas comes around it makes more sense than ever to do the shopping online from the comfort of their home. They avoid the crowds, the traffic, stay in the warm, comparison shop, read online reviews and then get exactly what they want and get it cheaper too.

You can tap into this huge spending surge right now by utilizing Google Adwords and Affiliate schemes.

Things have changed at Google HQ when it comes to Adwords you can no longer link directly to an affiliate site.

You may now wonder how you can make any money with Adwords and affiliate schemes.

As it goes the change in policy at Adwords had zero effect on the most profitable affiliate promoters. In fact for the smart ones and even the not so smart ones it actually increased their profits!

How? well it’s simple.

The smart affiliates didn’t send their prospects directly to an affiliate site anyway. Instead they constructed their own site on which they presold the product or service they were promoting. By presell I mean they softly emphasised the benefits of the product, showed mouth-watering pictures, made comparisons to other similar products to emphasise the benefits of the product they were promoting. In essence they wrote a favourable, and what appeared to be an unbiased review.

You can do exactly the same. You don’t need a full site just a single landing page will do. You could even have a page for each affiliate product you’re promoting on the back of one of your existing sites.

The single biggest thing to keep in mind when you do this is that you must not go for the hard sell. Try to be unbiased and if there are bad points to the product you’re promoting via Adwords be sure to mention them.

In fact I’d go so far as to say, make sure you list something you’re not happy with.

I know that sounds nuts but it will give your review much more credibility than if you gushed overly enthusiastically about how great this product is.

Mention a bad point or a minor irritation but then be sure to follow with a major good point or qualify why exactly you didn’t like this one feature.

What should you promote?

You need something either with a good conversion or a high commission. Preferably both. You also need to find low cost keywords and lots of them if possible. That goes for anything you promote really.

Consider what people will be buying this Xmas. What has the largest price tag but is still in high demand?

Ideally stay away from the obvious e.g. ipods, Xbox’s etc there will be too much competition and so to high a click cost.

In conclusion the method of promotion mentioned above has served many people well and in fact resulted in, believe it or not, an annual six figure income for more than one lucky affiliate marketer.

Get your Adwords Xmas campaigns running now. Each day you hold of on starting your Xmas Adwords campaigns you loose money.

6 Ways to Keep Them Coming Back

It is estimated that it can take the average consumer 5-7 times to see a product they like before purchasing. So with that in mind, how do you get your website visitors to come back to your site so they can see your product again?

Jay Conrad Levinson, author of Guerrilla Marketing said, “Content is king. Provide what your competitors are not providing. Give your visitors information of value. People aren’t as interested in you as what they are in learning.”

Here are 6 ways to keep them coming back for more.

1. Contests/Giveaways

Offer a contest or give away a free prize. People love to win stuff. Your award doesn’t need to be big or costly to be effective. You could give away something as simple as a free consultation or an ebook to the winner. A great contest idea is to ask the visitor to answer a survey of questions about their interests in your products or services and then they are entered into the contest for free. By having them answer a survey, you automatically get feedback on what your potential customers are looking for.

2. Updated Content

It’s good to offer your visitors a place where they can view updated industry related news on your site. If you have a potential customer visiting the more free relevant free information you offer the better. Here are some sites where you can get free updated news and content.

FreeNewsFeed.com - Provides eBusiness and Technology headline news feeds from the E-Commerce Times and general technology news headlines from around the world.
http://freenewsfeed.newsfactor.com/

MagPortal - Has over 200 categories to choose from, so you can select listings that closely match your users’ interests. New articles are normally added to the feeds within one business day of their publisher placing them on the web, so the feeds are a good source of current information that can improve the stickiness of your site.
http://magportal.com/help/free_feeds/

Moreover.com - Moreover is a news feed application that sends fresh news headlines to websites. The best source of dynamic news content available on the web.
http://w.moreover.com/

NewsIndex - With the News Index Personalized News Ticker you decide the content, not merely by some vague topic like sports or business, but can focus down to the exact area of interest for your visitors.
http://www.newsindex.com/tickercust.html

3. Polls

Visitors often like to give their opinion about something. Offering a quick one or two question poll that changes every couple of days is a great way to keep them interested and coming back to your site. Here are some sites that can help you set up a poll for your website.

Mister Poll - Add interactive polling capabilities for your visitors. Claims to be the Internet’s largest online polling site.
http://www.misterpoll.com/

Pollit.com - Add surveys, polls, guestbooks, and an ad rotator to your site for free to increase interactivity for your visitors.
http://www.pollit.com/

Votations - Polls, surveys, quizzes and database forms are free with many options and with an easy and fast four step setup process.
http://www.votations.com/

Zoomerang - Zoomerang has more than 100 professionally-designed survey templates to choose from, including those for business, education, community, and personal/social.
http://info.zoomerang.com/

4. Guestbook/Forum/Chat

People love to interact with each other. If you give them a place to leave their thoughts and to talk with one another, most likely they will come back to view what else has been said. There are three basic types of this kind of interactivity.

Guestbook
This is simply a place where your visitors can leave their thoughts and opinions.

Forum
This is a more interactive approach, where someone can start a thread and other visitors reply to the posting in an ongoing fashion. This also a great thing to have if you offer more technical or specialized services, so that your customers can ask you about any technical problems they are having and might even find the answer in a previous posting.

Chat
Most of us know that chat rooms can be highly addictive and most online surfers at one point has participated in some kind of chat. You can provide a cat room for either social purposes (like an online dating site) or for customer service issues, where the visitor can have live help via a chat with a customer service rep.

5. Free Articles

People love free stuff. Even if it’s as simple as a collection of industry related articles. If you owned a diet and nutrition company, offering free recipes and articles on weight loss would boost your traffic by getting them to return to your site for more info. It’s important to use only relevant material to your website services or products or you will just confuse or irritate your visitor.

You can either write the articles yourself or gather articles from article content sites. Make sure you always include the author’s credits at the end so you are not stealing the articles. Here are a few good sites that offer articles on a huge variety of topics.

Article Central - A large directory of almost 4000 articles for webmasters.
http://thewhir.com/find/articlecentral/

Constant Content - Download articles, tutorials, and product reviews for your web site. Everything you need to construct a finished website. You can request article subject matter and even get custom articles written just for your web site.
http://www.constant-content.com/

EzineArticles.com - Free content for your ezine or website from a variety of popular categories.
http://www.ezinearticles.com/

Another good way to gain exposure for your website and start gaining respect and credibility is to write your own articles and submit them to these kinds of sites. There is always a link to the author’s website with their name at the end or beginning of each article. It is a great way to add traffic and potentially increase your sales.

6. Membership Sites

There are two kinds of membership sites, free and paid.
Free membership sites are usually websites that are tailored to give you content based on your profile and interests. It changes constantly and most people that sign up for a site like this come back to see whats new they can read about.

If you are an expert in your field of expertise and have enough good growing and updated content, you should look into making a paid members version of your website. You could even have a joint venture and offer a wealth of information only available to paid subscriptions.

There are still more ways you can add content to your site, like cartoons, games, quotes or sayings of the day. With a good search on the internet you should be able to come up with lots of free content to make your website a place where your customers love to come back and visit.

Remember that most internet consumers, first and foremost, are looking for free information before they are looking to buy anything. Make your site filled with relevant information and they will be more likely to come back and buy from a site they trust.
