The term stomp at first started with two buskers entertaining the streets of Brighton, UK with music, their catchy overall performance hooking in bystaders to stop, view, and listen. Created by Steven McNichols and Luke Cresswell in Brighton, UK, the music STOMP debuted within the Orpheum Theatre in February 1994. The musical STOMP can also track several of its roots to Booth Theatres erected at the Village Fairs within the Middle Ages and Renaissance time period- an old custom in that time. As opposed to any other musical, STOMP pushes the idea of what constitutes music. Eight nightly performers play basic and complex rhythms from every day things, such as six foot poles, sand, brooms, lids, litres of water, and aluminum bins. Through dance and music, the group collaborates with each other to play music, as well as supplying individual self-expression. STOMP is a sensual blend of comedy, percussion, and dynamic movements. The music STOMP is the unique creation of Steven McNichols and Luke Cresswell that captalizes on a ‘less is more’ premise. It’s a passionate production, not effortlessly classified into a specific musical or theatrical type. Via the lack of melodies, the audience listens to music getting broken down into basics as eight chiseled and dynamic performers pound out rhythms with common objects: poles, drumsticks, match boxes, water, brooms, bins, and lids. Ironically, the regular quality of these objects catapults STOMP to an artistic level not matched by other modern theatrical acts. The simplicity in which the cast manipulates their ‘instruments’ and body stretches the imagination into a fantastic reality. Its set design is flashy and colorful at times; a more elaborate metal construction demonstrates instruments which are struck by performers harnessed from the ceiling. This restriction frees the cast to use their feet, legs, and arms to create loud group rhythms that shake the rafters and audience with its intense, tribal rhythms. These in-your-face cadences are a powerful avenue for individual and collective expression, leaving many on the edge of their seats. STOMP’s absence of fancy performer outfits keeps the emphasis on what truly counts: dance moves and musical rhythms, which become much more complex with every subsequent scene. Subtlety is also utilized to balance these raw rhythms. One scene is focused around performers tapping six foot poles, as they stealthily circuit the stage, almost preying on each other with their moves and rhythms. Their sense of connection is palpable and sensual, cast eye contact stimulating the anticipation, as you nearly discover yourself wondering who is going to ‘win’ at this music game. Yet, everyone wins, the audience even asked into the performance through a cast member who initiates a clap-and-response session. Approximately two hours in duration, STOMP keeps one’s attention, making you wonder how items usually reserved for math problems, cleaning, and construction projects can entertain and produce a powerful music group dynamic. In this age of modern technology, STOMP is a refreshing blend of primal instincts meeting music genious, reminding us of the music and rhythmic potential right under our noses. It’s got to be England’s obsession with royalty. Before all-American rock and roll band Kings of Leon broke thru in the U.S. with its 4th album, Only by the Night, the Nashville foursome was completely welcomed by U.K. Audiences.
It is a phenomenon that puzzles lead frontman Caleb Followill. We’re still scratching our heads over that, he said to the Times Leader in a recent teleconference to plug the band’s current tour, which touches down Tues. night at the Toyota Pavilion on Montage Mountain. While capable of selling out arenas in Europe, the group made from siblings Caleb, Jared (bass) and Nathan (drums) and their cousin Matthew Followill (guitar) found its ascent to stateside mega stardom a bit more slow-going.
It took 3 albums and a succession of moderate hits like Molly’s Chambers and The Bucket before the band hit paydirt with Only by the Night and its inevitable radio singles Use Someone and Sex on Fire. The Western European fans possibly stick their nose up at the North American fans for being a little late (to catch on), Caleb said. But any individual that supports what we are doing, we are extraordinarily appreciative and excited by that. Bro Jared thinks the English fans, and likely the famously hyperbolic U.K.
Press, were charmed by the group’s history: 3 Southern brothers the boys of a traveling minister and a cousin carrying the torch for rock. They like the tale and the look. And we like to party too, so they like that, he revealed, eventually thankful for the overseas interest. The U.K. Truly jumped on the exaggeration of the new rock and roll revolution, with the Strokes and the White Stripes. They were sort of trying to find any other band that was out there, and we just happened to be one that they attached themselves to. But we were lucky enough to keep their attention.

Even 5 year olds that take to music must not help
but to take music lessons, or the instrument of their liking, and
master it. A certified music school in Chicago likely offers qualified
instructors that will teach you learn to jam in different types of
sounds, styles and rhythms. A music student wouldn’t have to drive
very far to find a Chicago music school staffed with personable and
competent music instructors.
Take for instance voice lessons. You know, the human voice is a
wildly hot musical device (though I wouldn’t think twice about the
recorder). They are adored for their flexibility. A thoughtful guitar
teacher would guide you through a remarkably mind-blowing number
that’s worth the lesson. Dissimilar from old school piano classes,
new Chicago guitar teachers are the revolutionary new way to learn the
skill by playing guitar, or piano.
So what, maybe you just started or you are an veteran, playing for
less than a year–Lakeview Chicago violin lessons may encourage you
play all the favorite popular musicfunner than ever. Take a look at
various group Chicago guitar
classes, Adult and Kid singing lessons, easy music instruction for
the kids and also classical piano lessons. It’s no surprise, pinny
pinching friends will still tell you to perfect your the fundamentals
like piano scales and musical timing before moving onto complete piano
songs you hold dear. Just wait, they’ll want to join you when you blow
their minds with music,
Others are taking a totally dissimilar philosophy. In reality there
are lots of various methods! All that aside, the top most piece of
info to recall is that guitar lessons, and music school of any kind
must be loved. You can’t fail loving music, because a wrong note you
strike, can be validated by the direction the song takes. Music
classes make such an impact in your rate of retention.

There are so many keyboards and digital pianos on the market today. How does one make a selection? Here are a few tips to help you choose one that meets your needs.
1. How much can you afford?
With such a wealth of keyboards available, a working person shouldn’t have a problem finding one that fits their budget. Low priced keyboards are all over. But this doesn’t mean that you should settle for anything. As the old adage goes, you usually get what you pay for. Usually the more money you invest, the greater the returns.
2. Do you need weighted action or synth action?
Weighted action means that the keyboard comes with heavy (weighted) keys and feels like an acoustic piano. You need some muscle to play such keyboards. If you’re a trained pianist or you want to develop your piano skills a weighted keyboard would be better suited.
Synth action would mean lighter keys. You can usually play faster and easier with a synth action keyboard. Are you gonna be playing synthy and techno stuff? Then synth action is what you need.
3. How many keys do you need?
You have a choice between 88, 76, 61, 49, 37, 25 keys, and even less. Your choice should be based on your needs and circumstances. For instance, players doing stuff that requires a small range, like samples, only need a few keys. 76 keys are usually best for quality synth action. But if you’re into stuff like sound development you can’t afford to work with anything short of 88 keys.
4. Do you need an onboard sequencer?
You need to avoid duplication. If you’re already sequencing on your computer you don’t want to pay for a keyboard that comes with a sequencer. You may never use it. An onboard sequencer is more important when you’re working without a computer.
5. Consider whether you need a workstation.
Workstations perform so many functions. These include everything from sequencing, to sampling, to effects, and mixing. Again you should avoid duplication. If you’re already doing all that on your computer, you probably don’t need to pay extra for a workstation. Don’t buy features that you already have. But a workstation is an incredible and necessary tool when a computer is not in the mix.
6. Importance of velocity and aftertouch features.
Ensure that your keyboard comes with velocity and aftertouch features. Velocity refers to how the sound responds to the amount of pressure applied to the keys (how quickly keys are pushed down). While aftertouch deals with the control data that is generated by pressing down the keys after they have reached and are resting on the keybed.
7. Will you be gigging or not?
If you’ll be carrying your keyboard from gig to gig, durability should be an important consideration. What material is used? A hard case should come in handy for protection. The weight of your keyboard is also part of the picture; unless you don’t mind the hassles of carrying a heavy keyboard or digital piano from one gig to another.
You should be able to find a keyboard easily online. You can order one that suits your needs today. Some of the best music keyboard and digital piano prices can be found on the Internet. You even get free shipping to your door.
Mantius Cazaubon offers a guide to help you choose a music keyboard that meets your needs on his site, http://www.yamaha-keyboard-guide.com. Visit Yamaha Keyboard Guide for Yamaha and other music keyboard reviews.
