It doesn’t matter if you’re visiting Brisbane or call Brisbane your home, you can’t go past what’s on offer at Riverlife. With their offices at the base of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs in the heart of Brisbane, Riverlife provides an adventure experience without having to travel outside of the city.

Looking for a cultural experience

Meet the local Brisbane Aboriginal Tribe, Riverlife Mirrabooka and experience the rich culture of Aboriginal life by sitting back and watching or joining in activities such as:

  • Traditional song and dance passed down through generations
  • Playing traditional Aboriginal musical instruments, like the didgeridoo
  • Share in the stories of Aboriginal life and the history of Australia
  • Learn to throw a boomerang… properly
  • Traditional aboriginal face painting
  • Taste traditional foods of the Indigenous culture

The Yuggera Aboriginal Dancers have performed for audiences both in Australia and around the world, including the Europe and the UK, once performing for Queen Elizabeth II.

Drop or climb

Experience the Kangaroo Point Cliffs for yourself with Rock Climbing sessions, both in the daylight or in the evening. The 20m high weathered cliff face is the perfect setting for a great outdoor adventure where the term rock climbing is literal, so you climb real rocks. From the top, you can take in incredible views of Brisbane city and the river. Climbs for all levels are available, from inexperienced right through to the most advanced climbers.

Prefer descent to ascent? Then opt for Abseiling instead. The extreme rush of abseiling down the magnificant cliffs, will bring joy to any lover of adventure. If it’s your first time, don’t panic! Qualified, experienced instructors will help you from start to finish.

For water enthusiasts

If you prefer water activities, book in for a guided Kayak tour and enjoy the city from a different angle. Paddle your way up or down the river and see some of Brisbane’s gorgeous features from the water. Kayaking is available both night and day, and Riverlife offer special packages such as Friday Night Paddle & Prawns and Saturday Night Paddle & Riverside BBQ. If you’ve done all this before and are a experienced paddler, then hire a kayak and take it out by yourself or with an experienced group of friends or family.

Tents for Extreme Mountaineering from Terra Nova

Terra Nova Equipments Ltd., founded in the early 1980s, is a manufacturer of tents and mountaineering equipment for professional expeditions and mountain competitions.

Known for their unique designs, level of detailing and the superb quality of materials, the tents from Terra Nova have been used in various environments, such as treks to the two poles, on an Everest expedition and a host of other harsh locations.

The company, based in Derbyshire, believes in continuous improvement in its designs and regularly sponsors mountain events to help improve its products and to show its commitment to its customers.

Terra Nova tents have won a number of awards, and the Laser Series of ultra light tents is the most popular among the customers. Used by mountain marathoners, these tents all weigh less than a kilogram. Weight is critical for performance in mountain marathons and the Laser Series is ideal for those conditions.

One of the best in its class, the Laser Competition weighs just 860 grams and is ideal for professional mountaineers. It features a unique transverse porch instead of the normal longitudinal one, and can accommodate one person. This tent at one point held the record for the lightest tent in the world.

The record however is now held by the Laser Photon Elite, from the same series. It weighs a little over 650 grams, with the complete package weighing just about 730 grams. This tent too is designed to sleep one person, but can accommodate two if required.

Both Laser Photon Elite and Laser Competition are made of identical constituents and feature similar technology, which aims to provide a safe and convenient experience in extreme conditions.
